Biography

2024-2025: Ashlyn's first meet as a Wildcat started strong with a personal record in the 60 meter dash of 7.64, earning her the second fastest time in CWU women's 60 meter dash history. She also ran the 200 meter dash, 60 meter hurdles, and the 4x400 meter relay. Ashlyn qualified for the Indoor GNAC Championships in the 60 meter hurdles, 60 meter dash, and the 200 meter dash- with a fourth and seventh place finish in the 200 and 60 respectively. In the finals of her 200 meter dash, Ashlyn ran 24.64 and moved herself up tp second on the Indoor All-Time List. Following a solid indoor season, she came out strong with a third place finish in the 200 meter dash at the Oregon Preview. Throughout her outdoor season Ashlyn ran the 100, 200, and 400 meter dashes  as well as both the 4x400 and 4x100 meter relays. At the CWU Wildcat Invitational, Ashlyn had a PR in the 100 meter dash of 11.67, earning her the second spot on the 100 meter Outdoor All-Time List. Qualifying for four events in the Outdoor GNAC Championships, Ashlyn walked away with four medals. She placed third in both the 100m and 200m dashes, including another PR in the 200m of 24.23 and adding her name to the 200m Outdoor All-Time List as the second fastest outdoor time ran. Ashlyn ran the anchor leg of the 4x100m relay, assisting in both the Outdoor GNAC Title and hitting a NCAA DII National Qulaifying time, as well as the first leg of the 4x400m relay that placed second and also hit a NCAA DII National Provisional mark. When in Colorado for the NCAA DII National Championships, Ashlyn and her 4x100m relay team had a PR that became the new school record of 44.76, earning them an All-American Honorable Mention. 
Background: One of the most decorated sprinters in Washington, Ashlyn Nielsen will bring a dynamic element to our women’s sprints and hurdles.  Coming from 3A State Champion program WaHi and coach Eric Hisaw, Ashlyn was the WaHi Athlete of the Year, the Pasco Invitational Athlete of the Meet, MCC Athlete of the Year, and 1st Team All-American at Nike Outdoor Nationals.  She is the only WaHi athlete ever to win four state titles in a single championship. She went almost entirely undefeated in the 200m and 4x100 except for runner up finishes at the Oregon Relays.  Ashlyn was the 2024 WIAA 3A State Champion in 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay, 4x200m relay.
