- Julie Henderson,
a 5-6 defensive specialist and libero from
Mossyrock
High School,
has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball for CWU
beginning next fall. She joins Kentlake’s Kristin Pasley as
the first two members of Andaya’s 2003 recruiting class.

- “Julie is part of
a recruiting class that fills our needs for the immediate future,”
Andaya said. “She is a savvy player with successful experience in
numerous positions and will definitely strengthen our back row and
first contacts. Julie is a great fit to our program not only on the
court, but in the classroom as well.”

- Currently carrying a 3.9
grade-point average at Mossyrock, Henderson will join a Central
volleyball program that annually ranks among the academically elite
teams in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

- On the court, she was a
four-year letter winner in volleyball, primarily as a setter. She
was the Most Valuable Player of the Central “B” League each of the
past two seasons, and she added all-state accolades as a senior this
past fall. A three-sport standout for the Vikings, Henderson also
helped pitch Mossyrock to the 2002 WIAA Class B fastpitch softball
championship.
